Frequently Asked Questions
We receive many questions for Wendy regarding her work. To answer some of the most common ones, we sat down and had a conversation with her.
Here’s what she said……
Wendy, you conduct healing services, teach classes, and offer individual sessions. Tell us about your work.
Every healing service, class, and individual session is different…no two are ever the same. For the individual sessions it’s about delving into a person’s soul to really understand them so that healing can begin. I help a person open doorways they have closed for a long time, which allows them to share secrets and ask questions they have dared not ask before.
Spirit guides me to ask questions that help the client look inward and reflect upon their personal beliefs and behaviors. The opening questions build a sense of security of being loved and honored, and being respected and cared for. Once the client is comfortable, then I ask the deeper, more difficult questions allowing for a conversation to take place between the two of us. This leads us both to the particular place within the person where a healing needs to transpire.
How do the classes compare to the individual sessions?
Classes have the same general purpose as individual sessions: to assist people in achieving a closer relationship with their personal God. I teach with an awareness of the individual needs of each person in the class. My words are carefully chosen, not by me, but through Divine revelation, through wisdom, and through an innate knowing, which becomes clear to me, and the class member, why they are there. It’s as if the words they are hearing are meant specifically for them and only them. Each person’s interpretation of what was said is usually different because we all “hear” differently. But, the words resonate within their soul, meaning it was for their individual personal healing and growth even though they were in a class setting.
Wendy, some people are not sure they believe in Spiritual Healing. What is it?
Some people don’t believe in Spiritual Healing because they expect grandiose miracles of people being healed, physically, like standing from a wheelchair and walking across the room. Personally, I don’t believe all people need to be cured of their physical ailments. Sometimes those ailments are gifts.
For me, Spiritual Healing is when the body, mind, and spirit are working together in harmony. I believe that when we ignore our emotional trauma, or fail to completely forgive those who have harmed us, our bodies experience physical symptoms of disease and illness. Spiritual Healing allows us to rid ourselves of the emotional trauma, which then heals the physical ailments.
In a healing session, how do you know what each person needs?
I begin each healing session by first removing my personal ego and invoking the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides me to where and how each person needs to be touched…where they are the most fragile, where there is pain, and what needs the most love. Regardless if the healing is emotional or physical, the Divine Source guides me to the place or places within each person requiring healing.
When you touch people, do you know what you are looking for?
I allow the Holy Spirit to guide my hands to where a person requires healing. I don’t always understand why my hands are being guided to a certain area of a person’s body. For instance, Beth*, a client of mine, had been battling stomach lesions for many years. Spirit guided my hands to the area of the lesions and I worked on her for a long time to remove them. My hands were guided to other places on her body during the healing session, but they kept being guided back to the same location where I had just removed the lesions. Puzzled, I asked her, “What is this about?” She said she felt a great deal of weight leaving her, like she was twenty pounds lighter. Prior to this healing session I was unaware of the lesions. It was the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit that showed me they needed to be removed.
Other times my hands are guided to a persons back, shoulder, knee, arm, leg, etc. I place my hands where they are experiencing pain. The Divine Source sends healing energy through my hands and into their muscles, skin, bones…their bodies, so they can experience relief.
Is it true, sometimes all people need is love?
Some healings are physical and some healings are nothing more than allowing the presence of the Holy Spirit to come upon me and fill me with a Love that is beyond human love…a perfect love, a non-judgmental love, a compassionate love, an unconditional love, a tender love.
With some people, their hearts have become a barren desert and thirst for Love. I simply touch their heart and they go into a state of ecstasy wanting to capture as much Love as they can. The Love pours from the Divine Source through my hands and into their hearts. After a few moments of experiencing the healing energy their faces and bodies relax, and they fall backwards releasing their spirit into a state of utter bliss.
Sometimes I’m guided to look into someone’s eyes and I’ll see a wall they’ve built to seal out the world. They don’t want anyone to see them because they feel they are ugly, disgusting, unwanted, shameful, or unworthy. I see the crimes they’ve committed against themselves, and maybe others, along with the self-inflicted punishment they think they deserve. In these instances I’m guided to look deeper into their eyes, so deep that it becomes clear to them that the Divine Source is coming through me and touching their soul. A sense of relief comes over them as their secrets no longer hold them captive and their spirits are free.
Other times I look into some people’s eyes and I see a troubled heart, confusion, or fear. I’m guided to run my hand across their forehead as to wipe the memories, fear, and hurt away. As their spirit lets go of the memories, fear, and hurt they fall backward settling into a state of peace.
What are the oils you use during the Spiritual Healings?
Many sacred scriptures mention the use of essential oils. Essential oils are derived from plants, which were created by God, making the oils sacred. Throughout the ages they have been used for the dedication of spaces to worship, for anointing of individuals in sacred ceremonies, and for healing the sick. During a healing session Spirit guides me to the oil/s that will be the most beneficial for an individuals healing.
Why do you play music during the Spiritual Healings?
Music has long been used as an aid in worship to connect with the Divine. This is true regardless of the spiritual tradition. The praise and worship of contemporary Christianity are very similar in their intention and impact to Gregorian chant and Kirtan. The role of music in any service dedicated to honoring the Divine is to allow a person to shut off the mind's chatter and create a space in their hearts so that a dialogue may begin between the two. In that sacred space peace can be found, revelation and clarity can be achieved, and healing of the body, mind, and soul can begin. I incorporate music from many religious traditions in my services and even some music that might not be considered appropriate worship music to show people that God can meet us wherever we are.
What should people expect after a Spiritual Healing?
Each person’s experience is different. For some the feelings are instantaneous while for others it’s a slow unfolding. Consider journaling your thoughts over the next few days or weeks as you begin to process the experience. Some people tell of experiencing exhaustion as their spirit lets go of the pain and rage they held for too long. Others tell of moments of intense clarity as they realize their path for life. Whatever you’re feeling, embrace it as you begin the next step of your spiritual journey with your God.
Wendy, you sometimes speak in tongues. What is this?
Speaking in tongues may happen for some. I feel speaking in tongues is a cry of joy to God. It is the soul crying in all the languages ever learned. It is joining with the universe and singing its praises. That’s why there is so much power when people speak in tongues.
I know there is the Biblical explanation, but I’ve always felt when I speak in tongues it’s not me…it’s my soul crying out in joy. I feel so much joy when I speak in tongues. I feel free…like a little girl dancing in her first party dress, twirling and twirling! It’s perfectly fine to be silly, okay to sing off-key, and alright to walk barefoot through the mud even though you’re wearing a pretty dress. Most people never experience this kind of freedom. They are taught what they should or shouldn’t do, how they should behave, what’s safe, and what makes sense. They forget their dreams. They forget themselves.
Speaking in tongues is letting go of all those preconceived ideas and perceptions and letting the Spirit flow through you.
Why do you perform Spiritual Healings?
People think when I touch them they will receive Gifts from the Divine. Truth be told, the Gifts have been there the whole time. People just need to give themselves permission to show the world their genuine self. They just need someone to be their cheering squad as they find their own voice and courage to speak their truth.
In all honesty, I feel very privileged. I get to see the truth about mankind. People allow me to cry with them, smile with them, laugh with them, and hold them in Love. My Gift of the Holy Spirit helps people to remove their masks so they can see who they truly are…God’s miracles. The healings help people to lighten their hearts, embrace joy, and fill their spirit with peace.
I Love what I do. I really do.
